BIPC GMD Distributes Third Batch of Motorcycle Hire-Purchase Scheme to 12 Beneficiaries

The Group Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, on Wednesday distributed the third batch of motorcycles to 12 persons under the company’s hire-purchase scheme.

Dr. Asemakaha said the initiative was part of BIPC’s commitment to implementing the Unicom Reform of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, which emphasizes inclusive governance and economic empowerment across Benue State.

“Today, we are gathered to distribute the third batch of our motorcycle hire-purchase scheme. It is important to provide dividends to our shareholders, but more importantly, we are extending inclusive government to our people. This is the first time since the inception of the company in 1979,” he stated.

He further noted that commercial motorcycle operations have created over 75,000 jobs for youths in Benue State. According to him, BIPC plans to extend the initiative to Otukpo and other parts of the state in the coming weeks.

Head of Business Development and Strategy at BIPC, Theresa Abeda, described the scheme as a mandate from Governor Alia aimed at taking youths off the streets and creating sustainable livelihoods. She urged the beneficiaries to embrace the opportunity with seriousness.

“Ours as a company is to make sure we take many people out of the street. That is the mandate we have from His Excellency. We encourage you not to take this goodwill for granted,” Abeda said.

Also speaking, the Company Secretary, Josephat Ioryoosu Esq., thanked the management for the initiative and advised the beneficiaries to abide by the terms of the hire-purchase agreement.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Michael Adagba from Buruku, Udu Bokyaa from Ushongo, and Samuel Ode from Oju Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to BIPC for the gesture. They pledged to make good use of the motorcycles and abide by the terms of the hire-purchase scheme.
