Lawmakers of the Benue State House of Assembly have commended the quality of locally produced Zeva Malt, following a tour of the Food Basket Brewery.
The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Hon. Thomas Dugeri, led other legislators in tasting the malt drink during the inspection and praised its quality, describing it as a testament to the state’s growing industrial capacity.
Hon. Dugeri expressed satisfaction with the product, noting that the brewery’s output reflects the potential of Benue State to compete favorably in the beverage industry. He emphasized the importance of supporting local industries to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities.
The Group Managing Director of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, who hosted the lawmakers, presented the Zeva Malt to the delegation and highlighted ongoing efforts to revitalize state-owned enterprises under the the visionary leadership of His Excellency Rev. Fr Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State.
Asemakaha noted that the Food Basket Brewery is part of a broader strategy to drive industrialization in the state, adding that the company remains committed to producing high-quality products that meet national standards.
The visit formed part of the Assembly’s tour of BIPC factories and projects aimed at assessing their performance and contributions to the state’s economic development.
